Valorant Champions Tour

Riot Games ยท 2023

Valorant is a tactical hero shooter played by millions of fans worldwide. In 2022, Riot Games approached GrandArmy for a fresh broadcast package for the Valorant Champions Tour.

I led our team's motion approach, developing the motion language, building the After Effects toolkit, and managing our team of animators.

Customizable countdown timers, responsive text boxes, and tons of alternate layouts that could be quickly adapted and redesigned for different battle scenarios.

Working as a close team, we defined specific timing and easing values across the system, drawing inspiration from weapon reload animations in first-person shooters to capture the competitive intensity of esports.

We designed the toolkit to be flexible and editor-friendly. Every composition can be manipulated using expression-based dropdown menus.
